Nottawa Township is a civil township of St. Joseph County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,999 at the 2000 census. The township is named after the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi. ==History== Nottawa Township was the center of the Notawasepe Potawatamie Reservation which was the home of the ancestors of the Nottawasippi Potawatamies starting in 1821.〔Helen Hornbeck Tanner.
